Coaching

Executive coaching

I coach and mentor a limited number of executives each year, on a one-off basis or as part of an ongoing programme.

I’ve been a qualified coach for nearly two decades, having trained with Noble Manhattan, Europe’s leader in the field of coaching, personal growth and corporate development. I have a long-standing association with Maggie Rose and MROI. We mentor and coach today’s leaders and co-authored a coaching handbook, Make the Juice Worth the Squeeze. I also draw on my previous role as catalogue director of a £multi-million international retailer.

I hold post-graduate qualifications from the University of London and Ashridge Management College, and originally graduated from Warwick University.

If you’d like to develop your career, grow your leadership capability, find clarity by having a good sounding board, or talk to someone who will inspire you and help you think differently, let’s have a conversation to explore how I might be able to help.

Micro-poetry

Micro-poetry

As an observer and poet, I regularly share the small things I notice as small poems. Many of them follow the Japanese ‘haiku’ structure, which is typically seventeen syllables in three lines of five, seven, and five.

In 2018, my first compilation of haiku poetry was published on Amazon: Iris Takes a Dip.

In 2016, I published a Post-It Poem every day for a year.

Here are a few of my favourites. (The first haiku was published in the British Haiku Society 2016 anthology):

Sunset sun low
a friend plays
a rustling tune
space space reconfigures
a stone floor echoes and waits
walls hold their secrets
space rectangle of love
an old man fills his pipe, smiles
empty basket waits
Reflections glorious playback
mirroring lagoon like depths
strangers stand in awe
hosta hosta la vista
slugs in the receiving line
a banquet awaits
parasols a cool breeze rustles
shades dance to the tune of light
sand crystals glisten
surreal real mimics surreal
what might salvador still see
what is it you see?
